Our Purple Dulse is a savory, umami, colorful seaweed that is sustainably wild-harvested from the pristine waters of the North Atlantic Ocean along the rocky coasts of the Gulf of Maine between the US and Canada. It's is perfect for soups, stews, stir-fries, sauces, salads and any other dish that needs an extra oomph. Use in cooking and garnishing for an irresistible nutty flavor or as an alternative to salt. It makes a great accompaniment to starches and sharp cheeses.
This dulse is solar-dried to preserved its nutrients, which include protein, dietary fiber, vitamin A (beta-carotene), iron, potassium, magnesium, chlorophyll, trace ocean minerals and B vitamins. It's also an excellent source of iodine!

I am really loving the Purple Dulse Flakes. I add it to my soups to give it a rich umami taste. Cooking up a pot of beans with this added is perfection!
Everything i have bought from burlap and barrel hasbeen of exceptional quality and taste is wonderf i am extremely happy with all purchases and being a spice club member is great
Great flavor for a nutritious boost for salads, soups and stir fry.
Tasty purple leaves.
If a dish needs a little bit of the sea in it, here is a subtle addition. I am loving this on potatoes and eggs where it does not get overwhelmed. I am betting it is good to sprinkle over tofu dishes, and will be adding to light broths.
