Puerto Rican food lovers, rejoice! Illyanna Maisonet, the award-winning food writer and first Puerto Rican food columnist in the United States, collaborated with us on these personal, deeply flavorful Puerto Rican blends to bring the flavors of PR food to your home. Both blends are wonderfully versatile and based on family recipes, and the wild achiote in the Sazón is sourced directly from San Sebastián, Puerto Rico.
And, a bonus: the recipes here, which feature the blends, are sneak peeks from Illyanna's forthcoming cookbook, Diasporican, due out in the fall (stay tuned!).
Both blends are salt-free.
“Just like every family has their own way of making coquito and arroz con gandules, each family has a personal blend of adobo seasoning spices: turmeric for deep color, oregano for deep flavor and garlic for deep soul! Adobo seasoning has endless possibilities as an addition to dry rubs and wet marinades. Use it for roasted chicken, barbecue and grilled seafood.” -Illyanna
Size: 2.8 oz glass jar
Ingredients: Garlic powder, black pepper, oregano buds, turmeric, cumin
Tasting notes: Citrus • Summer Sun • Mar Chiquita Beach
"Sazón means identity, history, and comfort and creates the foundational flavor of Puerto Rican food. A savory, earthy blend based on garlic, cumin and achiote seeds, this sazón is made with wild achiote sourced directly from San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, and it brings tons of flavor without any MSG or salt. I use it on my pork shoulder roasts, moles and stews." -Illyanna
Size: 3.0 oz glass jar
Ingredients: Garlic powder, wild achiote, cumin, turmeric, coriander
Tasting notes: Rainforest • Wild Herbs • Tropical Flowers

I love all of your spices
I highly recommend! I got this for my chef mother who has absolutely LOVED the quality of these spices. Don’t hesitate to buy!
Adobo & Sazon really rock!
These two blends are so flavorful that they can take almost any recipe, substitute one of these blends for the spices called for, and you have a delicious new dish. My family particularly likes these with chicken, pork and shrimp. I won’t be without them!
Really enhances the flavor of chicken.
❤️ Kitchen essentials
Love that there’s no salt in them. Love so much. I can’t imagine not having these in my arsenal of seasonings. Chilaquiles, rice, soups, allllll of it taste so good with generous sprinklings of both!
