Our Raki Anise Seeds have been grown in the coastal province of Denizli, Turkey, for thousands of years. They are traditionally used in the distillation of raki, the world-famous Turkish spirit.
Tiny and intense, they're as sweet as candy, with notes of sesame and hazelnut, making them perfect for cookies and cakes, as well as savory dishes. Sprinkle some on a roast chicken or fish with a little lemon juice and olive oil for a classic Mediterranean meal.

Our Raki Anise seeds are grown in the coastal province of Denizli, Turkey. Anise is native to the Mediterranean and has been cultivated there for thousands of years.
Raki, the classic Turkish anise-flavored liqueur, uses these sweet, nutty seeds for its characteristic licorice flavor and digestive properties. Many other liqueurs, including Arak, Ouzo, and Pastis, use them too.
The more you know: Anise and Star Anise are often confused because they share a few similarities, including their name and a licorice flavor. However, they are completely different spices. They each come from different parts of different plants (anise is a seed, while star anise is a fruit) that are native to different parts of the world.
I use this in biscotti, coffee and tea drinks.
fresh seeds, full of flavor. delivered on-time and well packaged for shipment
not the bright sweet fresh anise i was hoping for.
Recently finished my beloved jar of penzeys spanish anise, which was glorious stuff. Fresh, bright green, tasty. This stuff is older and musty and brown. Kinda tired energetically. Doesn't feel/taste fresh. Never tried Raki so can't compare it to that. I've liked other B&B spices but this one I wish I could return!
The smell and the flavor is unmatched. I love it. I need to buy more.
Little Seeds of Deliciousness
These are by far the most fragrant anise seeds I have ever used. If you want anise for delicious pizzelle cookies or any other recipe, these are the best.
Love all the spices I've ordered. These are the freshest highest quality spices and seeds ever. Everything is packed excellent and shipping is very fast.
Fantastic! A blast of flavor. I made bizcochitos with this anise seed and dropped off a plate of cookies with various neighbors during the holidays. Multiple people told me the bizcochitos were their favorite.
