*Good Food Award Winner!*
We've partnered with the Clif Family Winery (the organic, sustainable Napa valley winery from folks behind Clif Bar) to bring you this Solar Grown Honey collaboration: Cobanero Chili Hot Honey And we're absolutely thrilled to announce that it's a 2022 Good Food Award winner for "Best Honey."
We did rounds and rounds of testing (life is hard sometimes) to nail down the perfect balance of fruity heat with the natural sweetness of the raw honey, and we're so excited to share this collaboration with you.
The honey is gathered from hives placed on a solar farm that offsets the energy use of Clif Bar bakery and then combined with our Cobanero Chili Flakes. It's left to infuse for 2 weeks in a room that's heated to 95°F, the same internal temperature of the beehive, before the chili flakes are strained out.
The result is a beautifully balanced, spicy-sweet honey that belongs on cheese plates and slices of pizza, as a glaze for salmon or baked sweet potatoes, or on chicken wings and buffalo cauliflower, just to name a few.
- Origin: Forest City, Iowa, USA
- Process: Honey is gathered from hives, combined with our Cobanero Chili Flakes and left to infuse for 2 weeks before being strained out
- Ingredients: Honey, Cobanero Chili Flakes
Do not give honey to infants under 1 year.
SOURCING
The honey is called "solar grown" because it comes from a solar farm in Iowa. Since there's plenty of space under and around the solar panels, the Clif Family added pollinator-friendly plants and beehives to the land.
The bees help develop these flowering landscapes that provide nesting habitats and diverse food sources for wild bees, butterflies and other wildlife.
Planting pollinator-friendly habitat under these solar farms, along with the beehives, helps control storm water, improves the soil and provides diverse food sources and nesting habitat for the surrounding wildlife.

Caballero Chili Hot Honey
Tried it on toast & sandwiches...will go for vegetables next!! Simply awesome!!

Chili Honey
This is a real special product for those of us who love both honey and the bright flavor of chili. Wonderful on fresh homemade toasted bread, cornbread. My favorites.

Delicious honey
We love this blend of hot and sweet. Great on breads in the mornng, or as a little twist on vegetables, or pretty much anything. to It comes from a neighboring town too, which makes it even nicer...

Surprisingly delightful!
I tried this honey is my tea as well as a dressing for a Turkey salad. The taste was just the right amount of heat for both recipes and added a very pleasant surprise. I will be purchasing this again in the near future.

Always a good time...
Still enjoying it, the honey is beautifully floral and wonderfully balanced by the warmth of the cobanero. Favorite applications so far has been on warm butter biscuits for breakfast or as the sweetener in a pot of ****** Mexican ponche.

Yummy
This honey has a really nice kick to it. I steamed up some carrots on Christmas and enjoyed this sweet & spicy honey on them. I really have been enjoying this product along with all the spices I have had through Burlap & Barrel.

So good!
This is the best honey for biscuits, especially with butter or some fried chicken. We also used it as part of a charcuterie board- fabulous!

Hot Honey
Love this! Have used this on salmon, chicken and sweet potatoes. Warms up flavors. Like other reviewers, wish this came in a larger jar.
