Reem Assil is the owner of Reem's, a nationally acclaimed Arab bakery and restaurant in the San Francisco Bay Area. (It was named one of the Food & Wine's Restaurants of the Year in 2018.) She was also the opening chef for Dyafa, an Arab fine-dining restaurant that was awarded a coveted Michelin Bib Gourmand in its first year. She has established herself at the intersection of food, Arab culture, and social justice.
