This heirloom coriander variety is beautifully sweet and citrusy, a perfect ingredient for both cooking and garnishing. It is grown organically and featured in Eleven Madison Park's famous honey lavender duck.
Add to stir-fries or stews at the beginning of the cooking to infuse with other aromatics like garlic and onions, or put them into a pepper grinder and grind fresh over meat, roasted vegetables, into salad dressings and even in fruit and spice-based desserts.
What they're saying:
“This coriander is totally different from what you normally get at the store — it’s very citrusy, and a little tannic. It reminds me of grapefruit zest. I often toast it dry and use it as a crunchy topping on everything from roasted meat to salads. It’s great with citrus because it exaggerates the inherent qualities of the fruit.” - Rikki Giambruno, Chef and Owner of Hyacinth in Saint Paul

Coriander is native to North Africa and the eastern Mediterranean, with a deep history in those regions. Coriander seeds have been found in ancient Egyptian tombs dating back 3,000 years. Their citrusy, herba, resinous aroma has made coriander seeds a popular ingredient for thousands of years, one that has spread around the world to become a mainstay of cuisines from Mexico to Thailand.
Our Nile coriander is grown in the desert oasis of Fayoum, Egypt, on an organic association of farms. The fields are irrigated with water diverted from the Nile.
Meet the Farmer: Ahmad is one of our partner farmers in the oasis of Fayoum, Egypt, where people have been growing spices for thousands of years. He's pictured sitting in a field of coriander flowers. The flowers will get pollinated, then turn into the wonderful coriander seeds that we carry.

Beautiful citrus flavors that are aromatic and captivating. This is my favorite spice to roast and grind.
