Fruit Crisp with Hibiscus Powder
"Hibiscus takes the place of lemon juice and lends a beautiful color to this puckery-sweet crisp."
6 cups fruit of your choice, cut into bite-sized pieces (I love red berries here, but use whatever you have)
1 Tbsp Desert Hibiscus powder
5 Tbsp butter or fat of choice, cut into small pieces
2/3 cup packed brown sugar or sugar of choice
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
Combine fruit with hibiscus powder and 1 Tbsp sugar in a large bowl.
In a medium bowl or food processor, combine butter, flour, oats, remaining sugar and salt.
Spread fruit mixture in a buttered 9x9 baking dish and cover with the topping.
Bake at 400°F for 30 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbling.
