1/2 cup oats
1/2 milk or milk substitute
2 Tbsp greek yoghurt
1/2 Tbsp Black Lime Date Sugar OR Pompona Vanilla Date Sugar OR Buffalo Ginger Date Sugar
When I feel like "cooking", I measure all the wet ingredients into a mason jar or other sealable container, add the date sugar, whisk until well incorporated, add the oats, cover and chill overnight.
When I DON'T feel like cooking, I eyeball all of these ingredients into a mason jar or other sealable container, cover it, and shake it vigorously to incorporate. I recommend this method! Still chill overnight.
Top with berries, chopped dried fruit, nuts, seeds, and add more date sugar if you like, to taste.
The beauty of this is it's endlessly flexible and I use it often to try out new spices/toppings etc. Some of my favorite flavor combos include:
- Buffalo Ginger Date Sugar, regular milk, peanut butter & cacao nibs
- almond butter & Cherry Fennel Sherry Jam
- Black Lime Date Sugar, coconut milk, coconut flakes, pineapple and a pinch of turmeric
- Pompona Vanilla Date Sugar, oat milk, strawberries, bananas and walnuts.
