"In this martini-inspired cocktail, we omitted the briny olives and made a cardamom-infused saline solution (think simple syrup, but with salt instead of sugar). Try it with a zero-proof gin for an alcohol-free version!"
Ingredients
-
1Β½ oz Gin, London Dry, preferably Beefeater
-
1Β½ oz dry vermouth
-
ΒΌ oz cardamom infused saline solution
-
1 rinse Fino sherry (optional)
Directions
Cardamom-Infused Saline Solution
Combine 1 tsp salt per 2 oz of water. Bring the water to a boil and stir in salt until dissolved. While the water is still very hot, add ΒΌ tsp of ground Cloud Forest Cardamom for every tsp of salt. Put the ground cardamom in a tea strainer and steep in the saline solution for 20 minutes or until flavor is to your liking.
Cocktail
Combine all ingredients except sherry (if using) and stir in a mixing glass or pint glass over lots of ice until very cold.
If using sherry, rinse your glass with a little, just to coat the sides.
Pour through a julep strainer or Hawthorne strainer into a coupe, martini glass or Nick & Nora.
