Crunchy Sweet BBQ Okra "Croutons"

Ingredients

½ lb okras
-
2 Tbsp neutral oil (I used avocado oil)

2-3 tsp Sweet Mesquite BBQ

Salt (optional)

Large flat skillet
Directions
Trim back end of okras.
Cut into ⅓ inch rounds.
Pan fry in a single layer in hot oil on low-medium heat until golden brown on bottom — do not stir.
Flip and fry until crisp and brown on both sides.
Drain and immediately toss with Sweet Mesquite BBQ and salt if needed.
Recipe Note
Tips:
- Resist the urge to stir in the beginning, this will cause it to become slimy.
- Season to your liking with Sweet Mesquite BBQ (start with a tsp).
- Feel free to eat all in one sitting, it’s addictive.
- Great on anything that needs a crunchy topping. Also makes a delicious and healthy snack.
