Kebab & Coffee Steak Rub

Started on the stovetop and finished in the oven, this steak is simple but loaded with flavor.
Ingredients

1 ½-2 lbs steak, about 1-1.5” thick

2 Tbsp Kebab
-
1 ½ Tbsp ground coffee

1 ½ Tbsp brown sugar

Kosher salt, to taste

Ground black pepper (optional), to taste

Oil of choice
-
Salina Crystal Salt, to taste at finish (optional)
Directions
In a small bowl, combine Kebab, coffee, brown sugar, salt and pepper.
Preheat oven to 425°.
Pat steaks dry then coat with spice blend. Let steaks sit at room temperature, about 20-30 minutes.
Heat oil in a cast iron skillet to medium-high heat. Once pan is hot, cook the steaks for about 1-2 minutes on each side to create a nice crust, being careful not to burn. Then, transfer to oven until desired doneness.
Let steak rest about 10 minutes. Finish with Salina Crystal Salt, if desired. Slice and enjoy.
