Developed in collaboration with Peter Som, Bird’s the Word Chicken Salt is a spirited, modern take on a family classic. Inspired by Peter’s mother’s five spice and his own love of bold, expressive flavor, this seasoning adds a bright, savory twist with a surprising pop of citrusy depth.
Black lime brings zesty tang and complexity, while Fermented white peppercorns add gentle heat and umami, balanced by Lucknow fennel, royal cinnamon, Pemba cloves and smoked star anise for warmth and aroma. The result is deeply savory, lightly smoky and endlessly craveable.
Use Bird’s the Word as Peter does — generously. It’s perfect as a poultry rub for golden roast chicken, but it doesn’t stop there. Sprinkle it over roasted vegetables, seared steaks or potatoes, or use it to rim a Bloody Mary glass for a savory lift.
