Sourcing
For our Classics Reinvented Seasonings, we use the same single origin spices our customers already love, sourced through close partnerships with farmers around the world. Those ingredients come together in familiar, easy-to-use blends that make exceptional spices part of everyday cooking.
Toasted Pepita Pumpkin Spice is made exceptional with ground pepitas, made from oilseed pumpkin seeds grown in upstate New York
We source the seeds through Stony Brook, a producer working directly with farmers in the Finger Lakes region. For more than a decade, they’ve partnered with farmers to grow oilseed pumpkins, a variety cultivated specifically for its seeds rather than its flesh. The hulless, dark green seeds are harvested in the fall and pressed for oil, then the remaining seed material is gently milled on site into a fragrant, finely ground powder. By using the pressed seeds rather than discarding them, this process captures the full flavor of the pumpkin while making thoughtful use of the crop.
ingredient and turning a seasonal classic into something deeper, more savory and distinctly its own.
