For our Classics Reinvented Seasonings, we use the same single origin spices our customers already love, sourced through close partnerships with farmers around the world. Those ingredients come together in familiar, easy-to-use blends that make exceptional spices part of everyday cooking.

Umami Steak Seasoning is built on a savory backbone of granulated garlic and granulated shallot sourced from northern Vietnam. These alliums bring depth and richness to the blend, and they reflect the agricultural knowledge and careful growing practices of the farming communities who produce them.

We work with our longtime partners at DACE, a social enterprise in Vietnam, to connect with farmers growing garlic and shallots in the country’s northern regions. DACE partners closely with Hmong ethnic minority communities in the mountainous highlands, where farming is shaped by steep terrain, small plots and limited water access. Instead of large-scale staple crops, farmers grow high-value spice varieties using traditional organic methods and regenerative practices, irrigating their fields with collected rainwater and relying on careful crop selection and timing to ensure quality.
