"I was shocked to see how vibrant these little leaves looked when I opened the container and pleasantly surprised by their powerful aroma." Food & Wine
Our Flowering Hyssop Thyme is grown in Turkey, where it is the primary ingredient in za'atar. It has a beautiful floral, herbaceous flavor and aroma. This is by far the best dried thyme I’ve ever used! It’s well balanced & subtle yet the perfect flavor when thyme is needed. It is the only dried thyme is use!
The best quality spices
These spices really make a difference in my cooking! There is no doubt of the high quality. Love the way you highlight where you source from. It was tricky to find hyssop thyme anywhere else and I can rely on Burlap and Barrel to carry international spices.
So much aromatic and fresher tasting than traditional commercial offerings.
This goes in all our homemade veggie and chicken stocks and really makes all the difference. The smell and flavor of this thyme is incomparable to the stale supermarket stuff. Excellent addition to any dish!

FlowerinHyssop has been a fine addition to our winter herbs here in the east your cinnamon and wild cumin stad out as exceptional for all seasons.
I don't usually use dried herbs in winter but it's about Oregano and Thyme that I did.
I grow herbs in my gardens to use fresh in the summer, spring & early fall. When it's time to clear the beds and plant for winter. Late September for whole garlic. I clip, dry and jar for winter use. However, who could dare say no to Burlap and Barrel Farmers?! I used the thyme in some soup I made and it was wonderful--so herby and wildly fresh right from the jar. I also picked up some Oregano Flower Buds somewhere in the world of B and B. They smelled so heady that they almost didn't make into my mess of Southern/Asian greens as I didn't want to part with them. When I did, I thought I was in a jungle garden eating a dish (a weekly staple) I had never tasted before. Really! How could these experiences with Burlap and Barrel Herbs not be life changing? Really! How could encounters with the Burlap and Barrel Team, Crew, Family Farmer Members and Staff not be life changing. Well, the experiments and encounters ARE life changing. Fear Not. The changes are joyful and full-filling. Cook your heart out. Feed your world. Phyllis K Fess Baker/pkfb
Burlap & Barrel’s spices seem to have a depth and range of flavors you just don’t get anywhere else. I’ve run out of room in my spice cabinet and still can’t help ordering more.
Great addition to any dish
Great addition to any dish. I love thyme and this hyssop thyme has just the extra magic. Adds lots of full bodied flavor and yum! It's great in soups and on eggs or frittatas!
